Complex (Slow Digesting) Carbohydrates

Complex carbohydrates, sometimes called “Slow Digesting Carbohydrates” are carbohydrates from natural food sources. Natural food sources such as fruits, grains, legumes, and some vegetables. Natural food sources are usually also rich in fiber, which is good for the body as well.
Because carbohydrates convert in to sugar, the pancreas secretes insulin, which regulates blood sugar levels and stores sugars as an energy source. Slow digesting carbohydrates trigger the pancreas to secrete insulin on a much slower level and the sugars from the complex carbs get used as energy faster and do not get stored as excess.
Obviously complex carbohydrates are always the more healthy way to go when choosing your carbs in a diet. Most anything natural is the way to go in life. Nature blessed us with everything we need to survive, we just need to know how to utilize it and not rely on man mad, processed foods.
